AAYC Strengthens Diplomatic Ties in High-Level Meeting with Egypt’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.
The Afro-Arab Youth Council (AAYC) has continued to deepen its diplomatic engagement within the Arab world following a high-level meeting with Egypt’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Mohammed Karim Fouad Sharif. The engagement marks another important step in strengthening cooperation between Africa and the Arab region, with a strong focus on youth development, strategic partnerships, and shared progress.
Speaking after the meeting, AAYC Secretary General Hon. Dr. Abbas Agaba expressed appreciation for the warm reception and constructive dialogue held with the Ministry. He noted that the meeting reflected a spirit of openness and collaboration, underscoring the growing relationship between the Afro-Arab Youth Council and the Government of Egypt.
The discussions also highlighted the importance of strengthening trilateral cooperation involving Egypt, Uganda, and the AAYC.
“I’m grateful for the cordial and bilateral discussions between Egypt, the Afro-Arab Youth Council and Uganda,” Hon. Dr. Abbas Agaba said. “I was particularly fascinated to learn that the Honourable Minister has a personal connection to Uganda, having been raised in Kampala as the son of a former Libyan Ambassador to Uganda. This adds a unique dimension to our engagement and shared history.”
The Secretary General further revealed key breakthroughs from the meeting, including an agreement to facilitate the delivery of a message from His Excellency the President of the Republic of Uganda to His Excellency President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi of Egypt. Additionally, discussions explored Egypt’s potential contribution to the construction of the Afro-Arab Youth Council Headquarters, with proposals for Egyptian companies to play a central role in the project.

This engagement reflects AAYC’s continued commitment to building strong diplomatic bridges and mobilizing strategic support for its initiatives. As the Council expands its footprint across the Afro-Arab space, such high-level interactions are expected to unlock new opportunities for collaboration, investment, and youth empowerment.
